Love - It Rules the world....

Hey All,

This is my very first blog. Well, what should it be all about??? I think it should be about something that is beautiful.. Something that is common and relevant to all of us... Something that is close to every one, something that is in every one's mind... And now after considering a loooooooong list of possible options, I think it should be LOVE...

"Love me for a reason
Let the reason be love... "

But, What is Love??? Well, I think it is very difficult to define Love... It is the real essence of life. It gives us a meaning to live, a motive to work, a reason to cry and everything that we do is guided by Love.

Love is when you look into someone's eyes, and suddenly, you go all the way inside, to their soul... and you both know, instantly.

Love is truly an amazing thing and by far one of the most indefinable feeling we can experience. Hopefully if you were lucky by your mid-twenties you have experienced its blissful sting at one point or another. An emotion that fully enflames your soul. The food tastes better, the wine is perfect. The sky is sunnier, the grass is greener and generally, life has a few complaints.

The nature of this emotion is so bewildering and yet oddly exciting. Perfectly rational people act like lunatics when love is threatened.

People will have their own perspectives but I truly believe that its Love that rules not only an individual's entire feelings but actually rules him in every matter. “Love is all around”. To love is to place our happiness in the happiness of another. To love and be loved is like feeling the sun from both sides.

Love is patient, love is kind.
It does not envy, it does not boast,
it is not proud.

It is not rude, it is not self-seeking,
it is not easily angered,
it keeps no record of wrongs.

Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails.

– The Bible : 1 Corinthian

The love of a family is life’s greatest blessing. We learn to smile from our parents.

A mother lives for her child, she understands what her child does not say. That’s love. A Father works hard to earn for his child whom he loves. Even a child in its mother’s lap, who does not know how to speak, loves its mother...

“In family life, love is the oil that eases friction, the cement that binds closer together, and the music that brings harmony.”

Well, the first thing every one of us learned was Love. And I am not sure if we learned it or we brought it as a part of us to this world. It will always remain a mystery.

And it’s quite ironical (but still its true) that the feelings like Jealousy and Hatred are a product of LOVE. You dont agree, well then lemme explain...

Jealousy typically refers to the thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that occur when a person believes a valued relationship is being threatened by a rival. Jealousy and envy easily destroy relationships that otherwise were perfect.

"Pure love and suspicion cannot dwell together:
at the door where the latter enters, the former makes its exit."
- Alexandre Dumas

A love-hate relationship often occurs when people have completely lost the intimacy within a loving relationship, yet still retain some passion for, or perhaps some commitment to each other.

“Hatred ever kills, love never dies. Such is the vast difference between the two. What is obtained by love is retained for all time. What is obtained by hatred proves a burden in reality for it increases hatred.”

Its really amazing that Love can make all of us fight too, Isn't it?

And truly, 'We live and We Die for Love...'

No one amongst us can live without Love. People do Love the feeling of holding an unborn child and people do love the dear ones after they die.. So Love prevails even when people actually do not exist... Its amazing, isn't it..

What a grand thing, to be loved! What a grander thing still, to love!

The greatest happiness of life is the conviction that we are loved - loved for ourselves, or rather, loved in spite of ourselves. I don't know how much you people will agree to it but for me the real meaning of life is to Love.

So, Love the nature around you. Love the people around you. Love the real essence of Love..

"Remember, No one can rule the world...
Its LOVE that rules the world."

I never knew there would be a better tomorrow
But you've come into my life and taken away all my sorrow
My days of sadness are a thing of the past
Because I have found true love at last
My days of emptiness are gone for good
Because you fill a void in my heart that you should
 You've opened a window
You've shown me the light
And my love for you will continue to burn bright.
                                                            - Yvonne Warren.

NOTE : Well, I have to admit it here that I do not have the capability of putting ideas in words so beautifully. And even here, the words are not chosen by me only. One of my good friends, Kanika Gupta has helped me in putting words at the place they were supposed to be. I shared my ideas and a drft version of the article with her and she has indeed made a cluttered place look like a beautiful garden, a garden that is full of beautiful flowers.

I would like to thank her for helping me in writing my first blog.

Hi Raman,

My name is Gaurav and I am Kanika's cousin. I am very happy to see people like yourself discussing a wonderful topic: LOVE. I am sure much thought has gone into this blog and hope some of my thoughts might give some further insight.

I have always believed that love is the strongest force in the universe... I think of Yoda's words from Star Wars and liken the "Force" that "binds us, penetrates us, and surrounds us" to that of Love.

I have studied Literature in my final year of high school in Melbourne, Australia 2003. I came across a sonnet by William Shakespeare that is probably the most famous poetry that brings out the true meaning of Love.

Let me not to the marriage of true minds
Admit impediments. Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove:

O no! it is an ever-fixed mark
That looks on tempests and is never shaken;
It is the star to every wandering bark,
Whose worth's unknown, although his height be taken

Love's not Time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
Within his bending sickle's compass come:
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out even to the edge of doom.

If this be error and upon me proved,
I never writ, nor no man ever loved.

There is a lot that I can say about Shakespearean poetry (eg. There are 5 syllables in each line termed iambic pentameter) but to get to the point of what sonnet 116 is all about I refer you to a website (http://www.sparknotes.com/shakespeare/shakesonnets/section8.rhtml) which provides a decent explanation. Many of the sonnets surrounding 116 are about love.

There are many avenues through which the concept of Love is described and celebrated eg. Literature, music and drama.

Clearly Love is missing in some places of the world where there are wars, violence, abuse etc. Michael Jackson has a song called “Cry” in which he postulates over the idea that if we all cry at the same time, there would be no hate or conflict.

With that thought I will end and I look forward to the commentary that is to come on this blog.

Danke schön! (I’ve been to Munich)

Gaurav

Love is a blissful thought. It stems from the purest sections of your heart and devours all the vices and ill feelings.

Its a beautiful emotion.

"You'll never live until you give,
with all your heart and soul." Boyzone

There is no end to how much love one can give.

May we fill our hearts with love and drown out the negative emotions that may sometimes blind us.
